The wisdom of the horse ...a reflection of "now time"January 2010 ...In my horse I see a mirror of myself, I see a mirror not only of my human insecurities but I also see a mirror of my potential strengths……we are one and I cannot separate him from me. When I find the courage to acknowledging this Oneness I can then change my insecurities into strengths. However to do this and to become "empowered" I must first obtain my horse's level of consciousness... for empowerment is obtained by a belief in one's self... a belief in one’s Spirit that is reflected through the horse... How Animals can teach us to live in “now time”With change all around us will we approach the year 2012 with fear of faith? For those of us who have spent the last few years working on our own spiritual and personal growth these changes are welcome……………………..We know positive changes are imminent because we have been part of them As we advance toward the year 2012 we come to a completion of cycles within cycles, including the last cycle within the Mayan Calendar. Unlike the Gregorian Calender the Mayan Long Count Calendar is more than an events calendar, it represented cycles of Spiritual Growth. The reference to “end time” which is also referred to in many ancient texts and myths does not mean the end of time or any destruction of the planet…………….. Nonetheless, the changes in energy coming onto the planet will signify the end of “time” as we know it. There is much confusion and misunderstanding around this coming event which is not meant to be translated literally, for every ending there is always a new beginning………..and for those who are working to resolve their inner conflict the transition will be easy. 2010 will be the start of the new Mayan Great Cycle of 0.0.0.0.1. ………..when a calendar comes to the end of a cycle, it just rolls over into the next cycle. ...which we believe will mean humanity integrating a new level of consciousness and a new understanding of “now time”. This new perception of time will require us to vibrate with “Universal” frequencies and the natural “wavelength” of Alpha, as against the hurried “mental” Beta frequency which at this point in time mostly controls our busy lifestyle Over the years (while doing courses in Metaphysics, esoteric studies and vibrational and Natural Medicine) it has been my horses who have given me the many insights and understanding of how we need to BE to integrate this event. We work on the premise that humans, as pure “electro-magnetic energy beings” of “Spirit” have been vibrating out of alignment with the frequency of Nature and the animals, and that these changes we are experiencing will require us to revert back from this soon to be obsolete frequency of Beta to the new incoming frequencies We will need to come into alignment with Universal Laws and vibrate with our hearts AND our minds equally balanced. When our left brain is in a Beta frequency, we are constantly “thinking” within an artificial time frame. “End time” merely means we will go back to a time where we create in the moment or in Alpha time. We will still have structure but we will also have spontaneity It does not mean an “either /or” situation but will require us to harmonise with and integrate both frequencies into one We will need to sort through all the available information around this event (left brain) and select only that which is right for us …………this information should also vibrate through our right brain and with what we ‘know” in our hearts We have all experienced this meditative Alpha state of being, we notice it when we are engrossed in the moment, where “time flies” or where we become oblivious to time How do we learn to balance this “time” with “no-time”, to balance the left and the right brain? We can gain information from books but this only satisfies the logical left brain. To find a balance and to satisfy the other side of the brain (and have healthy relationships with others) we must be able to “control” our mental chatter and open our right intuitive channels of emotional or gut intelligence. Tapping into gut intelligence is not a tangible or “logical” exercise therefore we can only have a grasp of this by “experiencing” it energetically………by learning to BE in the Alpha brainwave frequency…..the natural state of the horse. In our society, to succeed the importance has been placed on our “intellect”, our logic and scholastic achievements but now as we look around us we see that people are not coping using this left brain facility alone. People are not coping due to an imbalance or a void in emotional intelligence, which cannot be “taught” through left brain channels at school. E.Q. or emotional intelligence is when we can apply our intellect successfully, when we can have harmonious relationships, feel good about ourselves and we can reach our potential How Horses can help balance E.Q with I.Q.Equine Assisted Life Coaching (E.A.L.C.) incorporates a method of aligning mind/body/spirit and IQ with E.Q. called Whole Body Intelligence.Emotional Intelligence relates to the 90% plus that is non-verbal communication The horse can act as a positive feedback mechanism (in our Life Coaching sessions) because horses have their logic (I.Q.) and their instincts (that is their E.Q. or non-verbal communication) balanced With an understanding of Vibrational Medicine we see another quality of the horse in that he/she vibrates at a higher frequency, a frequency that equates to a sense of serenity and calm unhurriedness. Humans are often scattered by their emotions, which ultimately affect their self esteem, their ability to make decisions and ability to cope with life generally, whereas we see in the horse a quiet strength of mind and dogged determination…….and……….the horse never questions who he is. The horse has this trust and a belief in himself because he does not have an emotional component holding him back. During a life coaching session the Holistequine Life Coaching horses bypass the human emotional centre and respond only to their client’s “energy field” therefore if they “see” a block in the client’s “aura” they respond accordingly……... The horse sees so called “negative emotions” such as anger, frustration, guilt etc which is held in the body’s aura as “un-expressed energy” My gelding made me aware of the way horse can “see’ human auras many years ago. He would snort and back away from some people while at other times he would happily walk up to others. I later realised that his snorting and backing away was because he was “tuning into” what he perceived as human negative energy. Over the years as I cleared my own blocks and refined my vibration I am now able to see what my horse sees………. his gift to me is that we have now understood and refined this “reaction” as a bio feedback tool and can now use it in many areas within E.A.L.C. As stated earlier, most social problems that people experience are the result of poor emotional intelligence. The blocks can be recent or can be caused by long forgotten negative events buried within the subconscious mind and can often play out in people’s lives as low self esteem and lack of confidence. When these emotions or feelings are not understood or are not able to be released they can become stifled or internalised Unexpressed negative energy if not communicated in a healthy manner often causes anger, which more often than not is projected onto others or conversely it can result in unhappiness and possibly depression which is this same “energy” internalised During the interactive exercises in the Life Coaching sessions our horse partner demonstrates to us when our thoughts, ideas and wishes are not congruent with how we act. We all have dreams and expectations in life and want good outcomes but if these things do not happen and if we don’t fulfil out goals we often cannot work out why. To get our desired outcome we need to have our focus or desire aligned with our “will to do” or, our emotional intelligence aligned with our intellect. For example if we wanted to make a chair (focus/ desire) we would first use our intelligence to “picture” this chair, design the chair, work out what tools we need etc, then we would need the energy/willpower to make the chair happen. This “energy/will power to make it happen” or our will to do is our Spirit and is directly related to and includes our sense of self or our self esteem i.e. our emotional intelligence “Intelligence” is not just a function of the mind; it includes gut intelligence, instincts and “a sense of knowing” from somewhere deep inside us. The horse has perfected this combined intelligence over the course of his evolution as a survival mechanism and now through this system he/she can show us how we too can accomplish this balance The understanding of the animal/human connection for me came with getting to know my own horses and of feeling that deep connection that enables horse and rider to have “one mind”. It came with the understanding of the spirit of the horse and of his service to man. Our work at the centre has been developed over 20 years of observing how the qualities inherent in the horse strengthened our own human energy field and how the strength, determination, sensitivity and mindset of the horse by osmosis seemed to instil the same qualities in us. Over the years as we began to understand the vibrational effect horses had on people’s health and wellbeing we developed this interactive system to enhance a new awareness in humans. As we started to attract clients and students it became clear that something very powerful was at work here. People would arrive with headaches, sinus problems and an array of minor ailments that would disappear after being around our horses. People would cry and release old programming while working with a horse of their choice. What we were seeing was that our family of horses (the elders, the parents and the youngsters) acted as archetypes in people’s lives, and that issues created years ago by those absent family members could be cleared by the horses. The unconditional love (or service) that the horse represented was reaching areas that no human practitioner could access. A private life coaching session includes the client, the equine coach and a human practitioner/facilitator who has been trained to a level of “higher perception” or “sensitivity” enabling them to intuit the finer communication coming from the horse Equine Assisted Therapy Case StudyA client recently presented for an interactive life coaching session. Peter is 25 years of age doing a Marketing degree at University.
The session starts with some very simple interactive exercises between client and horse (no riding is involved in these Life Coaching sessions).
How Horses Empower UsAnyone who has ever worked with a horse will know that just “asking’ or “wanting” him/her to do something is just not enough…..there must be a level of commitment, a level of determination, and in the case of the Holistequine horses, a level of vibration that resonates with “a purity of intention”, Contact us for more information about our online horse courses in Holistic Horsemanship or Equine Assisted Life Coaching (Equine Assisted Therapy |
